fully functional kitchen

some friends of ours stopped by last night to help us install our kitchen counter and sink. thanks to their help, we have running water and a fully functional sink just in time for thanksgiving.

here is a summary of our work so far:

remaining projects: paint; install backsplash, cabinet trim/molding, window trim, and electrical wall plates.

Kitchen Remodel – Gas + Upper Cabinets

we ran a new gas line to power our new gas range and oven. plus, we installed a microwave (incl. vent). good stuff. we had started to forget how much we prefer cooking with gas. crys’ mother was nice enough to help us stain the trim that will go at the top and bottom of the upper cabinets to help give them a more finished look.

next up: move the sink and run new water and drain lines. we’ve completed the first step – re-purpose an old cast iron vent for a vent/drain system. but, we’re holding off on moving the sink for as long as possible.
